I didn’t really know Phil, even though I’ve been an instructor in Worcester for 10years. I passed the odd word and pleasantry with him at the test centre, but that’s it. All I can say is he was very pleasant, and softly spoken. That seems to be borne out by those who knew him better. Regardless, he was obviously much thought of and loved. So all I can do is offer my sympathy to his family and friends. I can only imagine the pain of losing someone so close. I hope his family take comfort in the fact that so many thought so much of him, as did those who learned to drive with him. John Grayson ADI
